Help! My Cook-top Burner is Going Out

24th Aug 2015

Diagnosing a faulty cook-top burner.

When one of your burners is not heating properly, the problem may not necessarily be the burner itself.

Save yourself time and money by performing this simple test to determine if the burner is the correct part to replace:

Exchange the burner that is not working (Burner A) with a burner that does work (Burner B).

If Burner B works in the new position, then replace the original burner (Burner A).

However, if Burner B doesn't work in the new position, then the problem is actually with your burner socket or infinite switch.

Repair Tip: Make sure your unit is getting enough power. If the electric range is receiving less than the required 220 volts of alternating current, the surface element will not work.
