    Plastic Parts

Posted by John Currier on 26th Jan 2017

Fixed a squeak in one of the rollers on my dryer. Decided to replace both with 2 of these kits. There were a couple differences. The biggest was that these rollers are made of hard plastic on the outer edge (the black part) where the rollers I removed are rubber. The result was that these are noisier than the OEM parts and actually thump when the dryer is started. They seem to quiet down some when they heat up. They DID remove the squeak, so I'm OK with that. The second difference is they use a spring washer on the back side of the roller, where the OEM used flat washers front and back. I don't know that it makes any difference, but is does make it a little more difficult to put on the retaining clip, requiring you to push back on the roller while installing the clip. All-in-all they are working fine, except for the increased noise.
